🤖 Mirage: Next generation 3D content creation with generative AI
Next generation tools for concept artists
This week’s AI startup Mirage is creating tools for concept artists to design and model 3D content at the speed of thought.
⚾ The Elevator Pitch
Currently, creating in 3D is time-consuming and takes years of experience and specialized training (trust me, it took me a week to learn how to model a donut in Blender). There is steep learning curve, making it largely inaccessible to most people.
Mirage is using generative AI to democratize 3D. Mirage allows users to enter prompts to search assets, generate models, and add VFX to build an environment in minutes, with no complex software.

🔍 Why we like it
🤩 Figma but for the 3D
Figma transformed the way every-day people approached design. In a sense, they democratized design by eliminating the gap between imagination and reality to make tools that allow people to express themselves and get ideas out of their heads. Mirage can do the same – but for 3D. Most of us in the past may have had a cool idea or wanted to create a 3D model, but didn’t know where to start. With generative AI, Mirage removed the barrier of entry, making 3D accessible to all.
🌐 All within the browser
Currently almost all 3D and modeling tools such as Blender or Maya have to be downloaded and require large amount of computing power. Mirage is all within the web browser. That’s right. No need for downloading or a laptop with a crazy GPU. Whether you want to a model of 2 T-Rexes standing next to a white truck or a cinematic coke can in front of Paris, Mirage can do it – all within your web browser.
